Well it's been done. One hard drive using perp tech has made it to 1TB. Video and audio editors rejoice lol. This could be a repost but I searched and couldnt find anything. Course everyone knows the search function is f-ed up.

Good news for the video and and audio fanatics.. $400 is pretty steep for the average Joe.

i would assume it's the standard 3 year Hitachi warranty, thats warranty on their current biggest harddrive, a 750gb model. I'm basing this on the smallest amount of google research though so don't quote me.

The Internet Archive Wayback Machine contains almost 2 petabytes of data and is currently growing at a rate of 20 terabytes per month. (as of May 2006)[2]

The only good news about this is that smaller 300 - 500GB drives will be even cheaper now. As mentioned already, I'm not trusting 1TB worth of data on a single drive.

4 of those, and raid 10, or 5 of them with raid 5 ... and I could have a decent little fileserver for my lan, and not need a TON of drives for it ...
