Great price for a great drive.
I had the 60gb 7200rpm hitachi/IBM drive for a year or two.....but recently 'upgraded' to the Seagate Momentus 5400rpm 120gb drive. I needed the space.
the 120gb drive isn't as "snappy" as the older drive, but I needed the capacity more.
With the 100gb 7200rpm at $200ish, I might have to "upgrade" again.... 😀

That's crazy. I'm curious: what kind of stuff do you fill your laptops up with to use up that many gigs? My 700m came with 30gigs, and it seems plenty. Of course I use this for work, and not gaming so that might be it. But still, I'm always dumbfounded when I hear people use so much space! What am I missing out on?!
Some people use their laptops as a primary PC, like me. Storage is at a premium for mobile usersOriginally posted by: TrixAreForKids

Areal density, but yes it is important 🙂 Areal density improves read speeds but can decrease write speeds. Look at the densities of the 7K100 and the 7200.1: guess which one is better at writing and which one is better at reading 🙂Originally posted by: Frglss
Aureal density doesn't hurt either.
fbrdphreak, you can send that 7K100 to after you're through testing so it's not taking up space in your test bed. 🙂
