Hitachi 500GB PATA

This drive sounds very SCSI-esque if you know what I mean. (actuators that mean bidness! )

What is the limit of the PATA controller anyway? It sees 500GB in the BIOS. At what point will the drives' size have to grow to before it won't see the full disk? Is it something ridiculous like 48 petabytes?

Well the actuators have more arms and heads to move than the smaller drives do. And more platters to turn as well. The current limit is in the Terabyte range.
