That's true. LCD is progressive, it can't display an interlaced signal. However the quality of the chip that does the deinterlacing does vary.

Wow! You must bargain a LOT better than I do! The Sears manager wouldn't do an exact price match. Gratz on saveing another $300!

This Hitachi TV uses an "ALiS" plasma panel which is interlaced.
