1080p and 1080i have the exact same resolution anyways. One is interlaced, and one isn't, but on an LCD/Plasma TV, they don't display anything as interlaced, so a 1080i and a 1080p image will look exactly the same (unless your TV is seriously screwed up and can't deinterlace the picture properly)
That's true. LCD is progressive, it can't display an interlaced signal. However the quality of the chip that does the deinterlacing does vary.
