Didn't see this posted and thought it was pretty hot even though there are two rebates.

Fry's ad in the SJ Mercury News has this drive for $114.99 with a $40 and $25 MIR for an after rebate price of $49.99 (plus tax on $114.99).

Outpost has it also but not as hot at $129.99 before and $64.99 after rebates.

I've done 6 Hitachi rebates over the years and have received every one with no problems, but as always YMMV and keep copies of everything.

It's the 7K250 with 83GB platters, not the newer T7K250 with 125GB platters. Makes it a little less hot but still pretty hot IMO.

StorageReview on the drive if anyone's interested.

Umm, no these are the T7K250 drives, the 7K250 was an Ultra ATA/100 drive. The T7K250 comes out of the box as SATA150, but you need to download the Hitachi Feature Tool from their website to activate the 3.0 Gb/s.

No, the 7K250 was made in SATA1.5g as well. Take a look at the model numbers in the review I linked as opposed to the datasheet for the T7K250.

This is the HDS722525VLSA80. The T7K250 version would be HDT722525DLA380.

Interesting, well I stand corrected, I just noticed it in Hitachi's product sheets for the 7K250 just now as well. Oh well, guess ima pass on this one, still a good deal though.
