Hit shin, no marks but over a week later and still hurts real bad

Strange occurance: I was sitting on the back of a couch, friend jokingly pushes me over the back of it. By sheer impulse I flailed my limbs as I toppled backwards over the back, and I slammed my shin into the corner of a table. I have no mark except for a tiny little bruise, but it's been a week and a half and it still hurts like a mother. When I walk, it's sore every time I step on that leg. Could I have hurt something deeper than the surface, or should I just stop whining and tough it out?

You probably just bruised the bone... it does happen.

Give it a few weeks and try to go easy on it.

I had a bruise like that once. It was there for about a month & then went away.

Never had enough pain to make me want to see a doctor.

I feel fine now, but for some reason, my left side is taller than my right.

You ruptured the coating (pereosteum? sp) around the bone. Blood gets in there and hardens. I have a permanent bump on my right shin from a friend kicking me in the shin while playing soccer in gym class.

i got drilled with a baseball that was hit back at me up the middle....... no time to move my leg...
i had a nice bruise that lasted ohh a month, and I still to this day have a lump. It got so tight that i could feel it squishing back and forth as i walked and it hurt like hell. Kept hurting for over a month. ohhhh over a year later i'm fine :)

In short... Hurts for a month or more, you will live, suck it up.

You should be fine as long as you don't try anything strenuous, like playing the piano or something like that.
