I was hit by Peacomm while I executed one of the infected file. AVG caught it before it could do any damage and I opted to put away those affected files in a "vault". Since then my USB wireless adapter as well built in network adapter won't work. I used window XP's repair option but did not work. I uninstalled network adapter and let win XP detect it and install the driver automatically but no go.Moreover, CPU run at 100 % at all the time after bootup. I tried to kill all process (admin) one by one but still CPU runs at 100%. Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't have the back up. If there is any other solution to this.

Tried booting into safemode, deleting the files, running diagnostics etc?

In other words the standard virus/spyware recovery methods? (Non-Nuclear)
