Hit a rut on site and check engine light on

I was working on a construction site today and was driving on site and hit a rut. My front bumper hit edge of rut fairly hard. I cracked my front bumper and now my ac is not working and my check engine light is on. Car is not accelerating properly and rpms idling are not constant. I started my car in my drive way and started to reverse out and car died on me. Any input on what could be wrong?

Sorry to hear that. What is the make and year of the vehicle? Was it running without issue before you hit the rut? Are any fluids leaking? I would check engine oil level, transmission fluid, and radiator coolant. You could cause serious further damage running the car if any of those have have leaked out.

Otherwise, dont have much to suggest. Could be a crimped fuel line, vacuum line or electrical connection damaged or jarred loose, or who knows what else. I would contact your insurance company immediately. The damage might be covered, depending on your coverage.

It is a 2017 Chevy Cruze LT, no leaking fluid that I’ve noticed. Started it up this morning and it shut off me. But took it for a drive and drives relatively ok. Noticed some trouble accelerating (jumpy)

Might have jumped a belt or something depending on severity of bump. Could have activated Airbag system which could affect all sorts of things. If you have a check engine light go get the code pulled at your local auto store. Get under the car and see if you see any bashed open or dented coolers
