You should even be able to find it in OEM color, which will help the resale value of your car. *Much* better than aftermarket parts, since they tend to not be galvanized and you have to have it painted.

Also check ebay motors, again for the same reason. Used bumper in black color > aftermarket bumper with aftermarket paint.

edit: Also consider getting a CF hood - it will look much better when you try to sell the car than an aftermarket repaint job.

Thanks Halik. I just added a link to a day time photo that my insurance adjuster took. I figured I would have to have parts painted anyway, and that the body shop would just match the colors based on the paint codes. I'm hoping to find a different style hood (with scoop) and a different bumper as well. If the prices for the parts are within range of the OEM hood, bumper, I will get the ones I want instead of just replacing with factory style.

Deers scare the crap out of me, especially when I'm on my motorcycle. I pray I never have to run into one *crosses fingers*. As for small animals, not sure what the procedure is? If you can't avoid it then just gas, tuck, and run it over or what?

yea look what that deer did to my windshield, after I hit it with my front end.

This is why i personally think it is crazy dumb to ride motorcycles on public streets (i love off road biking). but to each his own.

Real estimation figures will be done by the body shop themselves. Note that this will likely be inflated but they can mess with the insurance company about the figures themselves.
When I got into an accident, I went to Yelp.com to find a good body shop with 5 stars. The one I found had outstanding service. They updated me with the progress every other day without me inquiring about it and did an awesome job. Until I sold the car, I could not tell at all if the car had been in an accident at all.

Anytime you have to paint the car, it will reduce the resale value. What exactly is wrong with your bumper right now, I can't see any damage?

Again see if you can find a fender on car-part.com in black, it's much better than a repaint.

Being black helps, but sometimes even the same color panel won't exactly match as the paint batches are different.

How does repaint hurt resale anyway? If it goes on the car's record that it was in an accident with a deer, then it is on the record. New paint on a panel doesn't mean that much after that.

Any paintwork reduces auction prices, which in turns reduce the trade in value. Guys at auctions do walk around with paint meters to make sure the cars they buy have no paintwork done.

Accident with a deer can mean as little as replaced headlight or the whole front end was redone and reshot. The former matters very little, the latter will kill the auction price.

Also I would be VERY surprised if BMW QC lets visibly different black batches out of the factory. From my personal experience buying painted body pieces, they're virtually always spot on (sun damage is the only factor)

I remember seeing a tour of a bmw facility and they had a garage filled with cars whom only crime was blemishes in paint. The bumper has tons of cracks in it and from the impression i got when i looked at it up close, i knew i wouldn't accept having it just repaired.

The last three claims I've made where my insurance paid out, all were over estimated.

I don't see how you avoided more damage, one of my friends hit a deer and it destroyed the front end of their truck.
Well....I suppose it could be the size of the deer.

The deer jumped as I hit it, so my front end only hit its rear quarter (legs, butt) but that flipped the deer up onto my hood and up into my window.

I was lucky. That deer was headed right towards me and would have ended up in my lap had it gone all the way through the window

why aero kit? M front bumper cover is just so much more aggressive looking, but you do lose the fogs.

Hope all is well, my E85 has been sold but its still a great car.
