Well, I have attempted to build a new system and have hit a dead end with the front panel wires. I have installed the cpu - heatsink and fan - ramm. Not sure what to do with the Power Led/Hdd/Reset, etc. Installing The Intel 945GPM and I'm looking at the diagram but can't grasp it. The wires from the case are not the same colors as the intel board shows. Anyone have any idea? Thanks

I don't think matching colors with the manual really matters (I think they're mainly colored on the board to designate what it what). The d/l link for your board's manual seems down now so I can't check it but here it is basically. Just take a look at it again and I'm sure you'll get it.

You'll see in the manual where the front panel connectors go and which pins are for what, whether it be LED or power, etc. They may also be marked next to the pins on the board as well. Different connectors use a different # of pins. For example, you'll see the HDD LED connector and there'll be 2 pins needed for it. You simply take that lead from the case and plug it onto those 2 pins on the board. Do the same for all the rest. It can be a bit tricky if they're close and you have bigger hands. Just match up the correct + and - and you should be fine.

Hope that's what you were looking for and it helps a bit.

Edit: From looking at a picture of the board, it looks like the connectors are the colored ones next to the SATA connectors. Just plug in each case lead into the corresponding pins on the board.

HeHe. Thanks Moosey. I've been looking at these diagrams all day and for some reason I can't seem to make sense of it. Many wires are red/white and I suppose the red would be the + wire. The front usb has a plug and there's 2 usb plugins - 1 & 2 -

It's a Quantum case with the carry handle on top..

The single wires - You say I can plug those onto any prong? thanks again.

What do you mean by "the single wires?" Any wire you're connecting will have to be plugged into it's corresponding location on the board. When you do it though, you just have to match up the + and - right.

Can you at least make sense of where everything goes? At least the basic stuff like power?

Morning.. I finally got this thing together. The problem I'm having is a slow moving machine for some reason. Especially scrolling the pages up/down - very slow...

http://www.amptron.com/html/MB-PM800-M2.html

ECS PM-800-M2
Corsair 512 ramm XM2
Seagate 250 gig (Why do they say 250 and it only shows 237??)
Intel Celeron D 3.0

When I first turn on the puter and it shows the bios text - it takes a long time
to run thru that before going to windows.. What can I do to shorten the
bios startup? thanks..

Also not getting any sound. I know this has an onboard sound card built in.. Not sure which plug to use for the speakers.. no manual.
