Hit 150 golf balls today

my hands are so damn blistered right now... even with a very nice glove.

Anyone else that isn't a serious golf player just enjoy going to the driving range? I dont' own a set of clubs so I use the clubhouse's crappy "anyone can use em" set and was averaging about 150 with a driver. I know that's pretty pitiful, but I've never taken lessons and i'm hitting it with a wooden pos 🙂

Golf's fun. I'm no golf pro. I just show up with a few friends once and a while and we also rent the clubs that they have. Too bad i couldn't make millions playing it.

How much does it cost to rent a set? The courses near here have nice rentals...

And I need to hit up a driving range soon...wonder where the nearest one is now, since they leveled the old one...

If you have never played golf, definately go to the driving range first. But if you really want to get good, nothing compares to actually playing on a course. And if the driving range allows you to hit of real grass, do that instead of the mats.

I would be happy to hit 150 yard drives consistently, especially if they were straight. I just started playing golf, and I'm really starting to enjoy the game. I can hit between 150 and 200 yard drives, but I can do it consistently.

I hit 150 yesterday. But I do it a lot so i'm fine.
If I had a range around here with an unlimited monthly pass I'd hit more.

I like golfing... when money isnt tight. 150 yard drive... you should try hitting something like a 3 or 5 wood first and get consistently good w/ those clubs. It should go further than 150

Golf rocks, I just have no urge to get out there and play, but when I do, man is it fun 🙂 I shoot such sporadic scores, 105 one day and 87 the next. I guess that's golf for ya, Tiger is amazing 😛

This thread reminds me of last week when I was playing golf, I had the longest drive of my life. The hole was about 315 Par 4, very slightly downhill, fairway slopes right to left down to a creek. Two bunkers one on the right side somewhat in front of the green and another one about 50 yards away from the green on the right side of the fairway. I hit the ball....launches right of center of the fairway (right where you want to hit it). It took the first bounce just to the right of the first bunker, takes a nice little kick left due to the slope of the fairway and rolls about another 20-30 yards. My second shot was about 25 yards away from the hole right smack in the middle of the fairway. I am playing at the same course next Thursday, I might have pics then to show. Its one of the most (if not THE most) beautiful courses in southern Orange County (the OC in CA). PM me if you really want to know which course it is.

haha yea I know my drive should go farther then 150, but I'm not a golfer, i'm using a very old wooden pos driver, and i'm not the strongest guy around in the first place. I've hit a 200 and a 225 before, but i'm happy because I see all these 40-60 year olds at the driving range with thousand dollar sets of clubs hitting drives 150-200 after a million dollars spent in golf lessons while I picked it up after 30$ worth of balls 🙂
