Anyone got a clue? I'm in Edge now, but usually Chrome. In Chrome my anandtech forums when I am editing since yesterday afternoon the tool bar is greyed out. Can't bold, link, get smilies, etc. How can I fix that?????????? TIA!

Delete all AT site-data ... good chance that will fix it. (note you may need to sign back in)

Trying to use that site to do it is insane. Tons of ads, miles of scrolling, and it didn't work for me. What DID WORK was this, which I'd saved in my data for times like THIS!!!

Delete specific cookies
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click Settings.
Under 'Privacy and security', click Cookies and other site data.
Click 'See all cookies and site data'.
At the top right, search for the website's name.
To the right of the site, click Remove. 😎

I saw zero ads.... come to think of it I almost NEVER see ads.

I AM running adblock +

Somehow it was turned off for that site.. just turned it on. It flashes an obtrusive message to turn it off, guess I did, but there's an option to continue without disabling, clicked that... Those ads were hell of annoying.

But you can type BB Code to add URLs also.
I suppose, if I'd looked for the codes. Anyway, that's a temporary jury-rig solution. I didn't know about toggling the BB code. If it happens again I should try that before deleting cookies. Anyway, the only thing I'm aware of losing from deleting cookies and data for the forums was having to sign in.

"[EDIA=youtube]bkwEZWexbr0[/EDIA]" That's the Template for an imbedded video. "[EDIA=youtube]bkwEZWexbr0[/EDIA]" is the raw Link.

It's not difficult, but with that said I never have linked a video that way, because the button always works for me. :p However, Bolding an individual Word or phrase in the middle of a typed Post is where I usually use Code, because I either do not understand how the button works or sometimes it doesn't work correctly. I'm guessing pebkak on that, but who knows, people are saying....

^^^ I have a browser add-on called BBCodeExtra that does all of that with a couple of clicks. It works great even on these new forums as long as you have BBCode enabled.

Nah, the bold tags (and some other ones) have been bugged in the forum for quite a while now (at least in Firefox), there's a thread on it in forum issues, I've just assumed it's going to be broken forever at this point.

I typically bold text by selecting it and pressing control + b. Italics, control + i, underlining control + u, strikethru control + s.
