History of P4 sockets...?

Ever since I switched over to AMD, I haven't kept track of the P4. I know that Willamette used a different socket than the Northwood...that's about all I know for sure.

Now there are more sockets (well, at least one that I know of). Could someone break down which CPUs use which socket?

Yeah, currently you've got Northwood and Prescott on S478 and just Prescott on LGA775.
The S423 and S478 willys are too old to worry about by now. 😀

Williemates are trash. I didn't want to mention them because they are not worth consideration other from how bad they were.
