no cable/satellite.

Watching a freaky X-File rerun (something with tentacles grabbed a man and his wife in the opening scene...haven't seen this one)

Check this out:

Saddam had a meeting with Iraq's power-holders. He then said there was a traitor among them. He brought up a man who was, according tohim, an "informant, " and the man began reading every name in the room. Those people were to be executed.

People were scared to death, so they began expressing, despertately, their alegance to him.

Saddam then halted the calling of names, and then spared everyone else's lives.

HE told them that they would serve as the firing squad for those that had been removed.

The mind of a madman... facinating.

As for his kids..he took them to the prisons..

and gave them a gun.

HE told them that they had to shot them or they would be killed.

He had them shoot 'quite a few' prisoners if you know what I mean

wow,

Goosemaster, if you want any insight into his even more brutal son, pick up a copy of Latif Yahia and Karl Wendl's "I Was Saddam's Son". I can't put the book down and read it till 3 am for a couple of days last week. I have about 50 pages left now. Some of this stuff is just sickening, especially the part where they describe the tortures they used on men, women, and even children.

I believe Yahia was just shown on this program also, during the Olympic atheletes scene.

If you haven't seen it yet you should pick up Uncle Saddam on DVD. It has a lot of stuff on his extreme megalomania, for one it tells of how in the late 80's he asked the Iraqi public to donate their gold jewelry to help pay off the country's war debt and the year after arrived to a public function in a gold plated horse drawn carriage. It is funny but depressing at the same time.
