It seems like all they have on lately is UFO, Big Foot, Chupacabra, etc.

This is not science or history! It is crap!

Either that or endless Ice Road Trucker episodes. They need to realize that shows about random hardcore redneck jobs are not interesting.

Just one of the reasons I'm going to be dropping my basic cable subscription.
I remember when Discovery was watchable and interesting. Now it's dumbed down to a level that a cat with severe brain injuries could comprehend easily, but with enough stupid graphic and camera effects to make the cat throw up in disgust, right before having a seizure.
That, and over the years, the amount of time devoted to commercials has increased, and cable prices have gone up. So you're paying an increasing amount of money to receive access to an increasing quantity of ads. Great deal - if you're on the supply side.

I liked Wild West Tech when it was on as well. (If it still is, I'd be surprised).
I actually liked all the WW2 stuff, at least it's history.
And, alot of okay documentaries went to History Channel International. Unfortunatly, it's on premium tier with most cable/sat providers.

I miss their specials. Thomas Jefferson, The War of 1812, the Czars come to mind.

I thought The History Channel played Lockheed Martin promo videos on continuous loop. Did they find something new to play?

I've switched to mostly History International and the Military Channel.
I'm sick of shows like monsterquest, ghost and ufo crap. And I don't care about reality series, put those on discovery.

Another channel going downhill fast is the science channel.
It has lots of good content some days, but others its just fluff.

The dumbing down of the Discovery Channel and the History Channel were two of the reasons I downgraded to basic cable; I stopped watching these channels. (I live in a valley, so if I want to see anything on TV, I need at least basic cable.)

yep, history and all discovery channels are circling the bowl. the repetitive crap they used to play was way better than the repetitive crap they play now.

The only decent show left is modern marvels, and even that show is running out of interesting stuff to talk about.

My favorite shows on the history channel are documentaries about the construction of landmarks and unique buildings, etc. However I haven't seen a show like this in over three years.

The pulled a lot of their military historia stuff to put on the military channel, formerly discovery wings. They've always had some scientific study type shows, but as of late to fill their schedule it's been a lot of the cheap to produce "reality programming".

Have not had TV for about a year & a half now. I mean I have TV for my Xbox, movies & some tv series shows that I like. All commercial free of course.
