google fails me, or i failed google.

regardless, what is the all time low of mortgage rates?
i know they're pretty low right now, relatively speaking, but just wanna see if it's dipped down to 3-4% before.

i wonder what they were when the prime rate was at 1% a few years back. i wasn't following the market then.

I think it is the latter ;)

I can't even imagine a 20.50% prime rate like existed in the early 80s.

I know people who have 5.25, and one guy is riding a 4.25 ARM right now.

Got 5%/30yr fixed a few years back, and paid NO points for that rate. :D
Of course, we've been talking about moving. If only I could take my mortgage with me!

Here is a graph showing the actual mortgage rates:

looks like we're at historic lows right now, doesn't it?
it also seems to follow the prime rate pretty closely.

I think thats the lowest no points 30 year fixed I've heard of. I've heard lower rates...but they were all either ARMs or 15 years or the people paid points.

my grandad was in the process of building about 100million worth of construction infrastructure on short term variable loans in 1980. needless to say my family is not rich now.
