I think it was. The War of 1812 wouldn't have happened. We still may have had a war without the Jay Treaty, but we would've had France help us out, the war would've been over much quicker, and Britain would've recognized Antifederalist sovereignty much earlier.
In fact, I think that had the Jay Treaty not been ratified by the Senate, we'd be better off today as the War of 1812 set some dangerous precedents and the Presidency of Our Savior, Thomas Jefferson failed to stop dangerous precedents, partly because the Jay Treaty was ratified.
I know I'm biased against the Federalists, but I don't think they had one good idea, and the Jay Treaty was a disaster just like all of the rest of the Federalist Party platform.
