hiss coming from onboard biostar m9 939

Sound works great but if the volume is up say 20% and no music is playing there is a hiss, I though it was speakers but when I connect my bt headphones I get the same hiss, mobo is still under warranty it doesn't bother me much but is it normal, sign of a potential poblem or maybe it was always there and i just never noticed

It was probably always there. That's one reason why some people still pay extra for PCI sound cards. Some boards have those sounds, some do not. Some are serious enough that you "hear" the mouse moving and the HDD accessing (like that Abit IS7 I used to have - terrible onboard audio).
