I waited the first time this year for the 7900 launch to hopefully find great deals on 7800gt's
According to reviews across the board the HIS x1800GTO has a x1800xl sticker on the back and easily unlocks to 16 pipes. Supposedly they also overclock close to 700/700 which would put it in and over the XT range.
Looking into that I saw them refurbed and open boxed going for ~$170 that competes with $300 cards that hit. ~10,000 3dmark05 card
You guys seem to know what the best economical deals are. I plan on getting 3 PCI-E versions of cards. we seem to more often play the rainbow six series of FPS games.
I can afford the best but Im a nice guy and tend to hand me down video cards to friends and such. Plus I get yelled at by the mrs If I chuck up a wad of money for a video card. even though she didnt complain when i bought her a ti4600 years back to play her sims crap. And gave her my 6600 for sims2.
