i think i'm going to start buying exclusively ati/amd. ati has angered me in the past, but they're now responsible for such an incredible tumble in GPU prices, and don't seem to be letting up...

gtx275 is still $30 more at best.

The HIS version is still $199 now because they have dropped price and after MIB, $199.

Looks like they are falling for good.

Ok yeah they were still at the old price this morning. Goddamn newegg... their prices have more mood swings than my girlfriend.

But they are dropping all across the board... ewiz has them for $190... $180 if the cashback works.

I was originally going to buy 2 4770s.. but now since it won't be till another 3+ weeks before i buy one... I am definitely going with 4890.

Until you split the difference and put the second 4890 in your machine.

Well... 2 4770s are faster. But if I want to upgrade past that, I have to ditch them. With getting 1 4890.. Yes, I might lose a few FPS in games.. but I would have the opportunity to upgrade to 2 4890s in the future - and by that time, I would expect these cards to be on the cheaper side. I don't plan on upgrading in the next year or two at least.

Then again.. in 2 years.. 2 4890s COULD be out of date still. Its a situation where you just have to pick 1 solution and just go with it.

Bah, I spent all that work to get it for $199 after PM and MIR from MicroCenter just for the egg to sell it for the same price. QQ
