Seeing the Sapphire Toxic is out, this can't be far behind and for a much smaller premium. "Only" 3gig vram, but most believe that's enough, anyway.

Seems like Tweaktown is getting all the good kit lately. Being in Taiwan sure is benefiting them. Although, they go from one extreme to the other. When they first got the Toxic they only reviewed it at stock clocks (no O/C), this time they've only done O/C'd. LOL I guess it doesn't matter. They have performance graphs for all of the comparable models included. You can ascertain the stock performance, if you need to. Of course, it's fast as hell. :D

"Only" a 2 slot card and the cooler seems to do fine. It's hard to tell about noise because of the retarded way TT does there acoustic tests. This should be a reasonably quiet cooler. HIS does a good job with their custom coolers.

If these "GE" editions push the prices of the "obsoleted" vanilla 7970 cards to $360-380 soon, that's going to make things very interesting. There is already a $70-80 price premium forming between 1000-1100mhz after-market HD7970s and the $499 MSRP of the GE cards. 1180mhz factory clocks are pretty impressive though for this particular card. That would beat just about any factory pre-overclocked GTX680.

The 7970 is shaping up to be a damn fine card, even with chronic coil whine(sounded like a cicada on meth),i nearly kept mine.wanna swap russian? i know you really want to :D,i jest :p.

Mine is nothing special. Can't overclock to even 1230mhz. Also, in some cases Kepler flies.

Hmm, I think 1230 is a pretty darn good OC to be honest. I used 1150 in crossfire for mine when I had them, although both cards could do near 1200 in single card mode. Although, I was subject to 100% manual fan torture chamber cooling (thanks AMD reference fan) at 1200mhz lol.
