This whole things makes me mad and sad at the same time. I hope Boever's family gets justice.
He got 3 misdemeanors for hitting a man who was walking in the shoulder of the road even after they found the man's glasses in his car. And they charged him with these knowing this stuff would come out. This is what privilege in the US looks like.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota investigators were skeptical that South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg didn't know he fatally struck a pedestrian on the night of Sept. 12, 2020.
According to video footage from two separate interviews between investigators and Ravnsborg, made public Tuesday by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, authorities found the reading glasses of Joe Boever inside the Ford Taurus that killed him.
"His face was in your windshield, Jason. Think about that," a detective with the North Dakota Bureau of Investigation said during an interrogation Sept. 30.

As for the AG of SD, he's a Republican...so nothing will happen to him. He's already gotten a judge to order the removal of his interview videos...I guess he doesn't want people to see what kind of condition he was in...

“One of the other things we know Jason is you weren’t in the middle of the road,” said one of the investigators. “You were on the shoulder. And I know it happens fast because it’s happened to me. We have three people putting him next to the grass. So we knew something was happening. You’re a smart man, you know, we’re- Joe and I have done this a long time, we know what the evidence is going to show us. What the evidence does show us.”

Joe Boever was carrying a flashlight that night as he walked along Highway 14 near Highmore. Investigators say they found it next to his body the following day. It was still on and shining just inches from the road. Investigators thought it was odd that Ravsnborg did not see the light the night of the crash.

A second investigator asked “After the crash did you see that light in the dark? Because it’s pitch dark. If there was something glowing it would make sense for you to see it.”

there was a case in Ft. Worth, tx years ago, either late 90s or early 2000s, where a woman hit a homeless man, drove home and parked her car in the garage and he begged her to take him to the hospital while stuck in the windshield over several days. he eventually died and she was convicted of manslaughter if memory serves.
