sorry i asked this in video - but didn't really get a response - was wondering if anyone tried this out and trying to get a really quiet system - thinking this will be a good upgrade

I've put the vga silencer on my crucial 9800pro. seems to work well, "quiet" mode its a bit quieter than the stock cooler, and you can still feel the warmth of the air coming out the back. On fast mode, its louder but still not loud - a lot of people could probably keep it on loud and not notice it, I'd say its probably louder than stock for wind noise but quieter for vibration/whine etc. (so overall approx equal, but a less annoying noise). In fast mode it does push quite a bit of hot air out the back.

Not tried overclocking either with the stock or the vga silencer, so cant say wether it might actually be keeping the card cooler or whatever, but otherwise I consider the cooler to be well worth recommending. I'd assume the actual 9800pro card is probably made by sapphire or something.
