When you uninstalled that, did the errors go away?

After that, when the errors went away, and you looked at any other errors still present in the event log, what's left, if anything?

Methodically, this can be worked through. It just takes some time and some googling.

Another easy thing to do (seperate from the event log issues) is to simply put on the latest Via chipset drivers and the latest ATI Radeon drivers (they just updated them recently).

Sounds good - glad the first error is fixed.

OK, so when you googled that second error, what did you find?

OK, so that's probably an issue with XP Home and bad uninstall routines, so moving on - are you certain there are no other errors in either system or application event logs?

If not, have you already upgraded your chipset drivers and your ATI drivers to the latest?

Your motherboard vendor can talk about compatibility; to get chipset drivers, IIRC you have a Via chipset, so go to Viaarena.com (IIRC) and grab the latest 4-in-1 pack and you're all set.

I count 5 posts suggesting that you put the latest chipset drivers on there - let's give that a shot first.

What is "it"? What are you talking about? What effects do you see from this?

For help, you've got to give full details.
