I got a resume in front of me for a 1-step above entry level position. It's 2 pages. I'm not throwing it away.

Generally speaking I will read the 1st page and if it's compelling I will get to the 2nd page. Your thoughts?

Anyone with 5+ years, I expect 2 pages.

I remember when I redid my resume from the ground up with a sexy ass template and I filled it up to a nice 2 full pager.

Then suddenly I had recruiters calling me within like a week

yeah my personal resume is 2 pages, and anyone that throws it away I don't want to work for anyway.

If anyone does can a resume from being a 2+ pager, it's an HR retard. Not the actual manager hiring.

The entire concept of HR needs to be outsourced to dumb-fuck-istan.

Probably no realistic reason to have a resume longer than two pages, unless it's for a very narrow scope of employment and that kind of information is necessary/requested. I'd expect anyone doing anything useful for more than 4-5 years to be able to fill out 2 pages with ease. Restricting it to two pages keeps you from self-fluffing and shows at least a measure of efficiency.

Anyone throwing out a 2 page resume probably shouldn't be involved in hiring anyone above unskilled labor.

I was a hiring manager for about 4 years and would have to hire 2 to 3 people yearly so I was interviewing every few months for open positions. The amount of pages in the resume never bothered me but I did have a few hangups that would require that I immediately place said resume in the garbage...

1. If there were apparent and frequent gramatical errors.

2. If your work history showed too many jobs in the last 5 to 10 years.

3. If your resume looked like a 3rd grader made it.

4. If you were vastly over qualified.

5. If it was forwarded from a temp service.

Out of the 30 to 50 resumes I would routinely get, perhaps only 3 to 5 were appealing enough to follow up on...

I had no idea that the drug dealer/crypto pimp recruiting process was so intensive! ;)

Personally, I got annoyed with resumes more than 3 pages long when I was in a hiring role. If you can't be succinct with your resume, you're probably going to be one of those type of people who writes 5 page long e-mails to basic questions over-explaining everything.
