HIPRO Power Supply Not Cutting it According to AMD's List--Any Suggestions?!?!

Seeing so much talk about power supplies and overclocking recently has gotten me thinking that the reason for my overly poor overclock on my BXHA Athlon 1200 may be PS-related. I checked the AMD recommended PS list and found that my PS, a 300W Hipro 300SN Rev 01, is only rated up to a 1000 MHz Athlon!!! Even so, my system has seemed quite stable; however, my ability to overclock has been quite poor. I have a BXHA 1200 MHz Athlon B processor. The highest overclock I can get stable is 1279 (142*9), and I do have decent cooling--an Alpha PAL6035 with a YS Tech Fan and ASII. Since pretty much everyone else with this processor has been able to get a higher overclock than I, might is be the PS that is holding me back?

What would you all reccommend then as a replacement if it is a PS problem? I know my MB supports PS fan speed monitoring, so it might be nice if the PS had a provision for this. I know I have seen the Enermax Whisper 350 EG365-VE at Coolerguys.com; however, I did not see this PS or any Enermax PS listed on AMD's approved list. Any other suggestions or good places to buy PS's from?

I guess I have one thing to add and a question of sorts. Does the fact that my PS as stated not being rated higher than 1000 MHz mean that the PS can't provide power to something more than an Athlon 1000, or does it mean that AMD has not tested the supply with more than an Athlon 1000?

I think this type of question has been proposed once before on the forums. Perhaps AMD should specify somehow before I go out and spend $70 on a new PS.
