After Hillary tried to lecture Pakistan who is finally doing something real about the Taliban while the USA dithers in Afghanistan, Hillary received an even sterner lecture about the US use of drones that may may be war crimes violations.
Then Hillary was off to the mid-east to face Israeli and Arab leaders. And found Israel eager to stall for more time which de facto allows more Israeli settlement in the West bank bank and east Jerusalem. Something Arab leaders are absolutely united against
in a zero tolerance policy.

I suspect time is rapidly running out for Obama to straddle any more fences, especially in the Mid-east. And without Obama forcing a total settlement freeze and coming aboard on moving forward on the Goldstone report, he is in grave danger of losing all support in the Arab world and a substantial amount of support in the UN.
After the pointless Annapolis conference where some Arab leaders were willing to table the settlement issue to get other concessions, they realized Israel would make no concessions and that they were played as suckers.
The other question is Israel now prepared to make concessions, and I have to feel the answer is a definite no at this point in time. Unless the USA now puts very hard pressure on Israel with more sticks than carrots.
But my guess is, time is running out, Obama must choose because he can't be in the good graces of both. And if Obama choose Israel, terrorism world wide will ramp up in a very big way in both the mid-east and the Afghan Pakistani areas of operation.
