Its a gimmick when Apple does it, but hilarious when Google does it.

If this was the other way around people would be screaming bloody murder. People in this thread are acting like iOS 6 doesnt exist. It doesn't get anymore biased than that. Do they think it will never be released or something?

I think you misunderstand why some of us are finding it funny. The concept of voice assistants isn't whats funny, it's the answers that are sometimes given back to you is what's funny.

Boo hoo, other people found it funny, sorry you two have a stick up your butt and can't enjoy humor (apple fans?) :p

LOL now I am an apple fan? Get over yourself

Everyone goes into a fit of laughter about the stupid stallion question. "HAHAHA OMG SIRI ASKED ABOUT A STALLION? WHY DID SHE DO THAT? HAHAHAHA." It was obvious why Siri asked about the stallion both the first and second time. Siri is made to be more conversational, and it shows in the video. The obvious bias of the 'moderator' doesn't help.

No, it was obvious the first time because that's what Siri thought she was searching for, the second time it was completely unrelated to the most recent query and that's why it's funny.

Search for baseball
I don't understand, here's a picture of a horse.

Because the last query was never completed. Siri is meant to be conversational, so the responses are in context. If you were talking with someone about a horse, and then they asked you about baseball, wouldn't you go "weren't we talking about horses?"

If I was talking to someone about a horse and then the subject changed and they kept trying to show me this picture of a stallion they had throughout the next few conversations I'd think it was pretty funny.

Siri doesn't understand the question asked, even though it repeats it back verbatim, and instead of offering a web search for the current question it offers a web search for the question before. To me that doesn't make sense.

The conversation didn't change. Its the next sentence. That's pretty abrupt. The point of Siri is to have multi-line conversations in an attempt to look more human, right? That's the different in presentation between Google Now and Siri.

Funny not found. Obviously biased.

And no, I'm not an apple fan.

Dude, siri just sucks, most of these things suck. Its was funny when siri finally showed the picture of the stallion. Move on. It was funny, if you dont think so then no one cares. The world will still spin and siri will still suck, as will most AI. i find no bias, just humor.

I'm in an area I don't know, I asked siri about 2 hours ago where I could get a Carne Asada Quesdilla around here. And it gave me a list of places. I had an awesome lunch thanks to Siri. I could have went on Yelp and did the same thing, but it would have taken a good deal longer to produce the same results. I use Siri to find places to eat almost every day. I didn't think I needed Siri so I got the iPhone 4 because I'm a cheap ass. Now I'm using my friends to find mexican food places and I'm sad I made the cheap choice :(

I <3 Siri

I thought it was supposed to be an easier way to get information?

I have friends to have conversations with, my smartphone I use to find stuff out.

Apparently people care enough to argue ;)

If you don't see the bias, then you are blind. The chick in the video went in with the attitude that Siri was inferior, and then failed to showcase any of the cases where Siri is better than Google Now while picking on Siri for its lacking capabilities in image searching.

Then how come all the marketing shows an actor having a conversation with Siri? And 99% of the pictures people post of Siri are conversational questions with quirky/sarcastic answers.

I use my (Android) smartphone to find stuff out too, and Google Now took a lot dryer, informational approach. You can't deny that Siri is marketed as having a conversational element.

Its fine if its conversational but when that gets in the way of it giving accurate results then thats not OK. It then becomes a gimmick or a novelty app rather than something useful.

Dude, its marketing. Of course its going to show you that crap because they want to sell it. Its all advertising. Hell, I can show you commercials where doctors said cigarettes were healthy for you but we all know its not, right?

I'm not advocating the usefulness of Siri. I've never even used Siri (since I own an android Phone). All I'm saying is that the video isn't funny and is clearly biased towards Google Now. More objective comparisons have been made on, you know, actual sources of news/information.

I don't even know what you are trying to get at. Yes, its marketing, but its also baked into the product and effects how Siri functions. Try getting snarky responses out of Google Now. Siri was made to have a 'personality'.

Are you saying this video was created as a marketing tool to get people to buy products with Google Now/Voice actions? So there is a clear marketing bias going on in this video?

Whether is biased or not isn't the point, that wouldn't make it funny or not.

The fact it was a stallion picture was funny. Not hilarious funny, but certainly grin worthy.

"Would you like me to show you a picture of a stallion?" would also make a great meme. :)

The video was certainly a good idea for AppJudgement's YouTube channel. A quick look at their recent videos show that most get about 1500-3000 views; the Siri vs. Google video has about 115,000 views.

I agree. Those were two separate points, though. I wasn't saying it wasn't funny because it was biased. I am just saying it (to me) is not funny and it (to me) appears biased.

Humor is a hit/miss thing, and it missed for me. Old's law exists for a reason...
