Got a question about the efficiency of infos about resident programs or autostart services using HijackThis.
Such Autoruns or Anvir TaskManager there what is running in the background is found much more. What is it? Apply the same approach for all (info sw), or it is otherwise?
thanks for the advice

Too difficult to decipher. Looks like a failed attempt at utilizing participles...please rephrase.

OK, I'll try: I know that does not generally like to compare different programs, even they have similar purpose. However, the HijackThis log seems pretty short/incomplete from Autoruns list on what can stop or delete. Autoruns list is exhaustive and sometimes vice versa confused on what can be canceled.
Hope more clear?
thx Peter

They don't have a similar purpose, although Autoruns can be utilized by the upper 1% to identify malware.

HijackThis is primarily for identifying malware, or changes on you system that may have been made by malware. It helps you cleanse your machine.

Autoruns is primarily for showing everything that is running on your machine, and is more like msconfig on MLB-quality steroids. It helps you tweak performance or troubleshoot misbehaving processes.

I have both on my machines.
