That looks OK, except I see they have outdated Sun Java, which means it's probably also got other vulnerable stuff installed. Solution: run the free Secunia Personal Software Inspector to find and fix the vulnerable stuff.

I listed some other security steps on this page, such as enabling their hardware-enforced Data Execution Prevention, upgrading to Microsoft Update instead of Windows Update, and some other things. That's the security strategy I use on my folks' computer.

What a cool little program! It found a couple things that were out of date and I fixed those up. I ran it on my computer and found out I was running a super out dated version of VLC. I'd never heard of the PSI software but will certainly be adding it to my arsenal.

I'm not sure if there was something pointing to the machine using Windows update rather than Microsoft update but I definitely set up Microsoft Update so it keeps Office up to snuff as well.
