Looks clean. I'd get rid of the proxy override. Why do you have both AVG & Norton Anti-Virus? I'd remove ccApp from startup. Other than that, why are you asking this question?

Thank You for your quick response....
I only have AVG installed now....Norton was installed and was removed several years ago. Do I need to do anything else to completely get rid of Norton.
How do you get rid of the proxy override and what is it??

I was asking because I had 4 unknown "startup items" in my startup msconfig log. There is no information on the items, and I checked them to not load on startup, but they're still bothering me. Can I remove them from the msconfig menu? If so, how??

Thanks Again

proxy overrides are one way for spyware to monitor your internet activity. In almost all situations, you do not need a proxy override. You can use hijackthis to remove it, or else uncheck the proxy server settings in the lan settings of the internet options in the control panel. The ccApp item is probably a dead link, doesn't really affect you one way or another. And what were the 4 unknown startup items? Really, there's nothing above to worry about, wouldn't hurt to leave the system alone.

The 4 files thru Start/Run/msconfig all have a blank under startup item & command. The location is SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\RUN.
I don't know what they are though....

As for the proxy server, I checked on it and according to my LAN settings, it is set to automatically detect settings and Proxy Server is unchecked. I do have a router, could that cause this to show as a proxy override???

I will take your advice and leave it alone. I did however uncheck the 4 items and ccap and rebooted as selective startup......System is still running smooth. If it isn't broke don't fix it, right!!!!!!!!

Thanks Again!!!

1 more question, why is there multiple processes of the same name????
example:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe
is in there (3) times

C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe
is in there (2) times

Actually, there's only one avgamsvr.exe. The first one indicates that it's a running process. The 023 category is just listing it as one of the NT Services.

Regarding svchost.exe, it's not unusual at all to see more than one of these running. You have to make sure that it's in the C:\WINDOWS\System32\ directory. If it's located anywhere else, then it's likely a trojan. See: A Description of Svchost.exe in Windows XP
