Highway Patrol

So, I'm driving down the interestate tonight, it was dark to the point where you would have to have your lights on.

And I pass this Highway Patrol car pulled over on the side of the interstate, with no lights on.

So I'm thinking, hes in his car, hes "on" the interstate, its night, why should be be allowed to not have his lights on. He should have to follow the same rules. I dont care that he's pulled over trying to catch speeders.

for some reason i just have this huge urge to sideswip him and take the whole dam thing to court "he didnt have his lights on, how am i supposed to see a car at night without lights....

Put a polll up:

1) I'm dumb
2) i'm stupid
3) I'm a retard
4) I deserve the Darwin Award
5) All of the above

Sideswipe is indeterminate liability. Its a suit you may not win. Plus govt/state employees are defended with your tax dollars. You can not seek a civil suit against him, only against the state. In addition, your court costs are being paid by YOU with your own money. Doesn't seem like such a good idea now does it?

why don't you go ahead and try it Einstein? I'd be very interested to know how successful your lawsuit will be. Let me make a prediction, no attorney will want to touch that with a 10 foot pole.

When they get to the point in the questioning where they ask you why you suddenly veered onto the shoulder at the very spot where the highway patrol car was sitting (with his reflective license plate and all), you'll know your case is screwed.

i think you'd have a tougher time explaining why you were driving on the shoulder.

I have a thought. Turn your dumb ass into said patrolman for "public stupidity". I hereby order you to get back in your stupid car and drive your stupid ass to his former location and politely ask if he can spray you with some OC spray and wail on you on or abouts the area of your skull until you are no longer stupid.

So I like saw this patrol car the other day, and I'm behind it, right? Yeah, and like, he had state government license plates on the patrol car!

WTF?? I can't have state government plates on my car, why the hell should he be able to?
