Why is it that anything later than 1.03b cause mouse/sound stutter?

Has anyone found one later than 1.03b that doesn't?
 
I have the epox 8K7A+ with this same controller, and just like you have found anyhting newer than the 1.03 driver is crap. This driver gives me the same benchmarks though as the newer one so im satisfied with it. Do you still have problems using the 1.03s?
 
not the 1.03b's, just anything newer than that (incl.. the whql's in win xp). just seems funny that they would not address this in the many revisions since, making me wonder if it's something on mine (which I doubt as it happens on my abit as well as my epox)
 
I think it has something to do with the type of Highpoint controller used on the Epox. If you look at the Highpoint chip, it is a newer revision...the Highpoint 370A. Supposedly only certain drivers work well with this controller. I think it's similar to Promise's "Lite" controller...
