If they can keep the price at $100 or below, I might get myself one:) The RAID 0 performance is amazing, it even smokes the 3ware card.

And to think, it's not even a native Serial-ATA card either. It's using all of these Parallel -> Serial-ATA bridges. Imagine what a native Serial-ATA card could do for a native Serial-ATA hard drive:D

Storage reviews at GamePC, hide the children and run away in fear. Your average zoo primate can write a better storage article.

Including yourself? :D

I typically don't like to get into the fine art of bashing websites (except for that guy over at Overclockers.com). But what makes GamePC so bad?

For the life of me, I can't find the thread where I discussed this review, but here it is:

Seagate Barracuda IV Hard Drive

Be forewarned, this is the worst hard drive review you will ever see from a major site. Every single benchmark had at least one inaccurate result. most of them completely obvious. They've written an equally bad SCSI-IDE comparison, as well as a horrible RAID article with all sorts of errors. Every storage article I have read from them was riddled with screwed up benchmarks, incorrect definitions, and scratch your head analysis.

edit,I think I can't find the thread because it got deleted. I believe it was linked to in this thread, but the link doesn't work:

wow! That controller barely outperformed ATA 133. I dont think I am jumping on the serial bandwagon until serial ATA 300 comes out.

What were you expecting??? It's not supposed to blow ATA-133 out of the water. It's mainly a change to smaller cables and better scaling in the future.

But for right now, the drives can't max out the spec.

Tis right, the drives aren't even in true spec. They had to use regular ATA parallel drives in the review.....it will be even better than those numbers when actual Serial ATA drives come out. Right now everything is going through converters.
