After 30 hours of playing Knights of the Old Republic, I am screwed. I am tempted to go ask for my money back on the game. There happens to be a HUGE bug that prevents me from continuing my game.

Yes there maybe a fix but I am still screwed. It will be released on xbox live. Well I do have a modded xbox but I do purchase my games. I modded my xbox so I could play mp3s and movies with it.

So the moment I use my xbox on xbox live it will be banned. I didn't plan on ever using xbox live but I don't want to limit what I might want to do in the future.

I just think it totally sucks that my game is screwed. Yes I don't have a saved game far enough back to fix the problem. I rotate about 10 saved games. Since that area required a lot of fighting, I was saving a lot. My auto-save doesn't have anything either. Basically, I am out 30 hours of my time and $50 for a game I can't finish without starting from scratch.

Shut off Mission's cloaking device right before you open the cells, that should get you past that section. I'm assuming you are at the particularly nasty section in terms of hanging people up with 'bobbing head Carth'? That is a problem with Mission being cloaked. You should have a save game at the very least outside of the room where you freed the party, IIRC you can't save the game during that cut scene. Shut her cloaking device off right before you walk in to the room where they are and you should be all set.

An alternative measure that works for some people is to eject the game and then reinsert it. Don't power down, save it or anything else, just eject it. The game will exit out, show the XBox logo and as soon as it does close the tray and wait for the game to come back up. That method doesn't always work, and even when it does work it does some screwed up things(you will get a -1 credit charge, -1 XP, Dark Side and Light Side points, a bunch of random garbage normally and your save game will read around 10,000 hours of play time from then on out).

I didn't have a saved game far enough back that I could uncloak Mission.

I fixed it. I am so happy I have a modded xbox. Someone on xbox-scene.com posted some files so Mission would be in my party right after I finished fighting Malak.

Thank goodness for that 🙂
