Highest Vcore for AMD Athlon64 3000+ (Venice E6) Skt 754?

What is the Highest Voltage that is safe for the AMD64 3000+ (Venice E6) on the Skt 754 platform.

Now I know overclocking can shorten the CPU life span even with minor increases in voltage but what is the highest Vcore that I could use that wouldn't reduce my cpu's life span to weeks or months.

I can currently reach 2.4ghz at stock voltages(1.4v) with 100% stability, however my GA-K8NS PRO is a bit of an overvolter so the average Vcore is around 1.42-1.45v.

I have had it upto 2.5ghz at 1.5v(1.55v according to BIOS and easytune) and it has been 100% stable, but I noticed that temps went up by almost 10C at idle. this isn't a real problem as I'm using the Thermaltake Aquarius 2 watercooling kit and it manages to keep temps below 35C at full load.

Could I go any higher than this with out killing the CPU, what is the highest voltage that is "safe".

secondly has anybody gone past the 250mhz HTT, that's as far as I have gone but I haven't really found much overclocking info on the K8NS PRO..can it go higher?

I would stop at 2.5GHz and 1.55Vcore. More juice will add about 50MHz, but the additional stress on the CPU isn't worth the trouble. The average overclock for A64 is 2.5GHz. I'm running my 3100 Sempron (Paris) at 1.48V and 2.43GHz.

Settings...270MHz FSB, 166 memory divider @ 2.5-3-3-6-1T with 2 x 512 Corsair Value Select and ECS NF4 754.

Rule of thumb is 10%*, so if default is 1.40v then safe to go 1.54v or 1.55v as that's more commonly available than 1.54v. Of course "safe" is like incest, it's all relative. Don't blame me if your equipment lets out the magic smoke that it runs on.

Some other stuff to keep in mind is that whatever the voltage, heat needs to be dealt with. Also, some boards undervolt and some overvolt. Another thing is... is the monitoring really accurate? For some boards people have found which places to measure CPU vcore and some have found small variances betwee what's measured with a multimeter/voltmeter and what the motherboard reports. I wonder if there's a generic way to check...

*The 10% "rule of thumb" is from CPU documentation where in the past I've seen voltages listed as "X.XXv +/- 10%."

sooo my current maximum overclock of 2.5ghz(250mhz HTT x10 1.55v) would be the maximum "safe" limit then for the Venice core?
