What is hte highest resolution monitor that is available for under $400?

I hate HDTV! It seems like ever since 1080p became a standard, monitor manufacturers no longer support anything higher. You can't even get a laptop at Best Buy that is 1920x1200! Only through Dell's web site.

For under $400 1920x1200 is probably the best you can get. Or an old CRT that goes to 2048x1536.

27.5" monitor for $310. got it when it was $340 and i live in california, so i had to pay tax and the $18 california recycling fee, still came out to $390 after shipping. should be at LEAST $30 less now, and it's a good monitor. it's a TN panel so its great for gaming, and the colors arent bad. fills up pretty much my whole field of view other than peripheral vision, great for watching movies and TV on hulu (640x480 is exactly 1/3 of 1920x1440, so it scales perfectly), and it's HDCP compliant so i can watch my blu-rays on it now instead of having to wait for the damn tv to be free during the day LOL
