What is the highest vcore you would feel comfortabe running on a 24/7 ?

No higher than 1.45 is what AMD reccomends, but I see people running 1.6 and even 1.7v in their sigs. Do you guys running the high V's use your comp at this level all the time, or just leave it on long enough to bench, then drop it back to a more conservative setting.

24/7....

AMD is telling you what vcore is need to operate at the life expectnacy they test for. The 1.45 versus 1.4v is liikely some built in headroom since some boards may overvolt a hair (cough ... ASUS ... cough).

I and most go with the 10% theory....meaning 1.54-1.55v should be your max, but as long as you are well cooled should be safe from damaging the cpu. Do you shorten the life expectancy??? Sure, but since the life expectancy of a cpu at operating specs is rather long compared to technological advancements and the cpu actually being obsolete before that point.

I have had a few cpus now that I know I oc'd 10% over vcore and 2-3 years later they are still running....They would have lasted and past their warranty....

Hmm thanks Duvie, good food for thought. Right now I am at 2600 @ 1.6V 35c idle. My load temps are about 52-53 in prime and about 56 in CPU S&M ( on water ). I am thinking I might drop the V down to 1.5 and see where I can get speed wise. I am still in the process of shedding V so I may be able to keep the 260X10.

I agree with Duvie's 10% but most would say you can SAFELY go past that.

While every OC is a gamble, sometimes you need just a little bit more juice to achieve that "braggable" speed, or just enough to get it stable.

I would say 1.7 would be my limit on that chip... 1.6 being the more reasonable bet.

Good Luck.

Yeah I think I am just going to leave it at 1.6.. If I dust it in 6 months, its a good excuse to upgrade right ? hehe. BTW, good luck in the playoffs. I am pulling for the Steelers since my team will be home watching too ( Lions fan *cringe* ).
