Check my sig, most of my cars are older than most people around here. Quality and longevity are not always the same thing either. With cars solid and simple can be the path to longevity. That is one reason I am getting another Mustang next weekend and should be my daily driver around Christmas. I am tired of newer cars that are $$$$ to fix when they fail. I have tools older than me that are better quality that what you can buy today also.

My Harmon Kardon receiver going strong and still performing well after 5 years. Cambridge Soundworks FPS-1800 speakers going strong after 7 years. Seiko gold watch working great after 11 years. I'm sure I have some other stuff as well but these are the first items that come to mind.

Had an old Sony TV we got rid of recently because we upgraded to LCD. It was 27 years old. Still ran great. It didn't even have a remote control, but you could have bought a WIRED remote for it.

Technics SL-P1300 CD decks. These things can take a beating, never skip even when the bass is so strong it distorts LCDs and makes filaments in light bulbs dance like those party lamps!

RCA tube tv's, I've got five of them in the house ranging in age from 34yrs to 3yrs and all work perfectly and none have ever required service. My main TV is a 35" that I bought in 91, and it still looks better than todays big screens.

Klipsch(classic) home speakers. I've got three pair that are all over 20 yr's old, korner horns, la scallas, and KG1's and they are all bullet proof and sound immaculate.

Remington rifles and shotguns. Impecable quality accuracy and reliability, had them in the family since before I was born right up through current semi-autos and BDL models. If you maintain them, they never misfire.

But how's the battery life?

ipod battery replacement has become a big business, especially with the mini.

Dell Dimension XPS B1000r SE

Got it back in 1998 and still runs perfectly with mostly original parts (added another 256 MB or RAM to make 512 total) and original Win2k install.

Bought them in Naples Italy in '71, set them up in the IFF room in the island of the USS JFK and finshed the cruise in style. Been using them ever since. That is 36yrs.
