higher resolutions with old video card than with my new video card

As I was testing my voodoo3, i was testing how far the resolutions could go within windows. Strangely enough I was able to get the resolutions up to 1280 by 1024. My regular video card is an ATI Radeon 8500, and if I try to set the resolutions up that high using the Radeon card it overflows off the screen and when I moved my mouse to the edge it moves the screen over to the part of the screen that is cut off. This has nothing to do with the monitor, it has something to do with windows or the video card. Can anyone help me with this, so I can get the same resolution on my Radeon card? I am running WinXP pro.

Did you correctly remove all traces of your your Voodoo3 before you swapped the cards?

Also you might need reinstall your monitor driver again and/or adjust the OSD controls.

I was useing the ATI Radeon 8500 before the Voodoo 3...the OSD is setup fine.......any more ideas?
