Check your BIOS and the revision of your board.
I think with the latest BIOS you will be able to go up to 1 Ghz.

Running a 1ghz on my p3b-f revision 1.03. you can download the latest versions from asuscom.de...the ones from their main website are a little outdated.

I thought that 850 MHz was the best I could do with that board, but not it appears it can go clear to the 1 GHz limit. Give it a shot, hope it works for you too.

I've got the same motherboard (P3B-F) and was wondering the same thing. Can anyone else confirm that the P3B-F supports the INTEL PENTIUM III 1000 MHZ (BX80526H1000256) PC100FSB COPPERMINE SECCII RETAILED W/COOLING FAN (3 YEARS WARRANTY) CPU? This chip is becoming cheap enough it might be time to max out my old 440BX motherboard (currently running a PIII 550E). Also, is the PIII 1GHZ even worth the upgrade, or should I skip it and go straight to the P4 (which will require a new mb and ram).
