Yo!

hi everyone!

There is something strange with my Albatron 6800 (vanilia) !
Getting higher the core clock the temp is falling and LOWering the core clock the temp is getting higher!!!

(please note that the fan speed is not variable)

take a look on the screenshot below!

wtf?!?!?! any commnets are welcome!

I agree.

While you did it with RivaTuner, the driver may intervene and clock the card back to "reasonable" levels without RT, or you for that matter, picking it up. It is entirely possible as 425\931 MAY be too high for your card, however I could be wrong. I would try to run some benchies at those clocks to see if your machine locks up, and my guess is, it may. Nothing personal, but what you are saying is the exact opposite of the way microchips work. As clock speed increases, heat output increases, not decreases. Why do you think we went from no heatsink on CPUs way back when to virtually requiring copper heatsinks with a mongo fan. The same story holds true for videocards as well (think GeForce 5800 Ultra).

Perhaps at default speed the fan is off.

When going to 3D mode, the fan may activate.

Using Coolbits, you may be able to enable a window that allows for "Fan Always On" option. This may alleviate your cooling issues...

Check into it.

1st,thanx for the replies!

sorry,
i forgot to mention that this" effect" appears only in 2D mode. In 3D everything is normat (look for example the screenshot with the freqs/temps whlile running rthdribl in background and swith from 405 to 300 the temp fell down almost 5 degrees )

graph 3DText

Im sure that the fan is not switching off or rotating slower because i can almost "feel" the RPM's from the pitch of the sound :D

geforcetony: the rock-stable speeds are 405/930,played many hours far-cry like this ;)

also my bios is volt-modded to 1.4 as you can see from the core voltage gauge.
