Higher automatic fan speeds on 8800GTS possible? Or Temp Max/Fan spd min?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a method to decrease the average running speeds of a GeForce 8800GTS? (Foxconn)

My system runs quite hot at the moment, all due to the extra heat being output by the 8800GTS on automatic fan speed.

Is there any way to set the minimum fan speed to say.. 75% duty cycle, while keeping the automatic speed increase for playing games?

Alternatively, is there any way to set an idle temperature target? So that the automatic controller will attempt to keep temp around target?

The current as-quiet-as-possible vs. max fan speed modes are rather limiting... 🙁
