High temps 4300C2d and P35-DQ6, seem off!

Alright I just setup a P35-DQ6 with a 4300C2D with a Scythe Ninja, Arctic Silver 5 in a P180 case.. Results are at stock speeds, all smart fan and options alike turned off.

At idle in TAT and Core Temp .95 I see about 50C... With Easy Tune 5 and Speedfan 4.32 I see about 36C

AS SOON as I start Orhtos stress test it hops up 7 - 10C, and gets around 65C in tat , and core temp within a matter about 15 seconds.
In the same 15 seconds easy tune and Speedfan show right around 50C..

Now I thought that maybe my HSF was mounted badly or had too much thermal paste so I took it off and cleaned it all off per the instructions on Arctic silvers site (I did have a bit too much applied), and reapplied very sparingly and following the directions pretty much to a "t"... Same results followed after re-doing it all

However I don't know which readings to believe, and with the temp changing that rapidly I would think something is wrong..
If I use the stress test with tat I have seen 70C within a short amount of time..

I would think that the on die temp would be more accurate, but the Easy Tune 5 and speed fan readings seem closer to the one I see in my Bios if that one turns out to be correct..

I was wanting to start testing with overclocking this, but with these temps I am thinking I should get this figured out first and then go from there..
I wouldn't think breakin would make much of a difference.

So which monitor should I believe?.. Maybe a fluke from the new chipset?.. I am kind of doubting it, as I have seen other have pretty normal temps with the same board.
Suggestions needed as I have NO clue

Thanks

I probably should have put this in the Cooling forum, so sorry for that!

Alright I did some reading and found this

"Both temps are correct, sort of. TAT and CoreTemp give you internal core temps which are much higher than the normal CPU temp readings that we're all used to seeing and EasyTune and Speedfan give you an approximation of the thermal junction (Tc) which is comparable to other CPU temp readings."

Which makes sense... I just can't see how it could be installed wrong as I checked and even re-installed it once.
Being at stock settings this doesn't seem right, and the ninja seems to be a decent cooler (well maybe not for me anyway!)

Pretty much has to be installed wrong, or maybe some P35 type of issue for me? .. Suggestions needed

Intel TAT is the one that I rely on mostly. It is the "most" accurate and best indicator of a problem. The stress test in Intel TAT is harsher than anything you could ever put your CPU through, harsher even than Orthos as you have learned. It is not uncommon for temps to jump up 7-10C when starting Intel TAT.

What speed are you running your processor and what voltage are you looking at? If you are at stock, then yeah, you have a problem. Take a single edge razor blade and run the blade along the top of your CPU heatspreader while holding it up to light. IF you see a lot of light between the CPU and the blade, you have a problem with your chip. Do the same thing with the razor blade on the bottom of your Ninja. It is common for C2D heatspreaders to be concave in shape and not making a decent enough contact. Solution here is to return the chip and hope to get one that is flatter on top OR to use sandpaper and manually lap the heatspreader flat. Lapping voids your warranty, but provides superior results.
