A friend has a problem regarding CPU temps on his MSI RS480M2. It is sky high on idle (61C). I replaced the original CPU fan with a Thermaltake smartfan and I added a big 90mm fan for the case but the temps remain the same. The heatsink is flush with the CPU and the PC doesnt hang or exhibit any problems. Could there be something wrong with the temp sensor?

Yes. Check for bios updates that deal with the issue. If your system is stable and airflow is good, I wouldn't worry too much about it. My old msi board still misreads the temp, even with several bios updates.
