the last few months, since spring, my idle temps are around 50 and load 54 for cpu and 32C case.

this happened before and i replaced the AS3. Then it was ok for a bit and then got hight again. This was fine for the fall and part of spring because my room was colder.

Last week, i replaced the AS3 and the temps didn't change. I went out and bought some AS5 and the temps dropped 1 degree or so, but nothing good. I know the break in time is needed but i don't see myself getting back down to the 40, 42 idle / 48 load days.

-- i know the heatsink is properly applied because i've done it jillions of times and the heatsink is warm to the touch.

is it time for a faster fan for the summer?

Are you really worried about your cpu being 54c...

I have run AMD processors at 63c for years with no problem.

I am currently running my prescott at 85c no problem (However I think thats on the die)

CPUs are rated much higher than people think and are able to run at those tempuratures fine.
Yea you may get a "little" more speed for keeping them cooler but its such a small amount.

Don't worry about 54c it's fine.
