High-speed Net Users Fret About Service

Link

Excite@Home's demise has broadband users across the nation worried about their own service. The first result may be higher prices for those who still have service

🙁 :|

Hopefully, Rogers, my cable provider, will dump whats left of @Home and go back to their Wave service network.

It was better anyway.

Joony,

Sorry to break it to ya bud but just because you have AT&T@Home doesn't make you exempt from Excite@Home's demise .. Everyone using an @Home service such as Comcast@Home Cox@Home or AT&T@Home is effected ... Excite@Home is the parent company that provides the cablemodem technology to all of the cable providers like Comcast. Of course, AT&T did buy all of the @Home assets from Excite@Home ... but may sell all of its Broadband assets to Comcast which probably includes @Home. In any case, everyone with an @Home connection is effected ... Hopefully if AT&T or Comcast owns @Home they will keep similar pricing schemes for other cable providers since in reality they are not competitors simply companies providing the same service in different regions.
