I use Charter cable for my hi speed. Quite often the Ambec modem's 'ready' light will go haywire - hence no connection. I can unplug the modem and reset it, and it will work again for a spell. I Called Charter, and they say that it is losing signal and plan to send a tech out on Wednesday.

Their problem, right? Well, I just wanted to make sure as this problem did not start till I loaded SP2. Can SP2 or something else software related contribute to this on and off again connection?

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking it must be the modem myself.
I just got a bit spooked when I called Charter and they said there could be a 36.00 charge if they had to replace the incoming cable line under the house. I just wanted to cover my bases.
