That was too much of a hug. Definitely should be suspended, not for a whole year though.

Wasn't a hug. That was him disrespecting his teacher by treating her like she was just some young bitch that he wanted to play with.

It is part of the property taxes we pay here in Texas to support the schools.

http://www.window.state.tx.us/taxinfo/proptax/ptax5.html

Yeah if you don't like it, then run for mayor of your city or city council and pass a law so people don't need to pay for public schools via taxation.

Then when little Timmy wants to play football or the trumpet, you have to tell him, "tough cookies little Timmy, but Mr. Texashiker didn't want to pay his fair share to promote after school activities so you don't do drugs or join a gang :) "

Who do you think pays for this shit man? Jesus just shits out money for you all?

I am so tired of people bitching about something that they are getting for free.

For free? Interesting. Last time I checked I was paying for that through my property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes or school taxes (depending on where you live). Good news that it's all free now though!

That's the liberal mentality, that a service provided by the government is "free". It's not, someone is paying for that service with their tax dollars.

Aw c'mon, the tax is paid by property owners, not the parents. Taxpayers without children pay the vast majority of the cost for the parents. The typical property owner pays maybe 500 bucks for the schools while the ACTUAL cost per pupil may be 10-20K. So a property owner with 1 child is paying maybe 5% of the cost of his kids education. If said property has 5 kids attending school simultaneously, he is paying 1% of the cost of kids education. I not only pay 100% of the cost of my kids education, I also pay the cost of all the freeloaders. Nothing annoys me more than hearing the freeloaders bellyache. Perhaps we should revert back to the sytem where all parents paid 100% of the cost of their child's education, it would at least teach them to appreciate the awesome bargain they are getting.

If he's been warned not to do it before I'm not sympathetic. A year does seem harsh, but if he pulls the same thing at work he's going to be fired for cause.

question. do you think if the ages were reversed the punishment would be fine?

So if a older student hugged a younger female student and she pushed him after would the 1 yr punishment be ok?

The whole education system in the US needs to be rebooted. Fire every teacher and every school administrator, and give them jobs picking up trash where they belong. Then hire all new teachers and abolish their unions.

<snip>

This is what happens when there is a monopoly on education. If schools did not have a monopoly on education a lot of things would be different.

I'm curious - are you aware that there are states where there isn't a teacher's union? Why don't you move to one of those states and have your children educated there instead. I mean, after all, they must do a better job! Statistically, though, they don't - they rank at the bottom.

Actually, on further thought, it is kind of a sexual assault. He wanted to feel her breasts against his body so he went in for the hug. To be absolutely honest, given that he had been given fair warning, I have to wonder if he might not be perhaps a sex predator. I certainly think he bears watching. I believe he should get a lifetime suspension from that school WITH a restraining order that prohibits him from coming within 50 yards of the facility. There is something VERY creepy about him.

Sounds like you have a problem with illegal immigrants coming here with numerous children enrolled in public school all the while paying very little in real estate taxes (or any other taxes for that matter).

Yeah because property taxes DEFINITELY aren't factored into rents.

EDIT: On further review you appear to be complaining about the fundamental structure of public education instead. Parents always pay much less than what their kids cost per year, but they pay property taxes and associated taxes over their entire lifetimes. I thought everyone knew that.

OMG, what an awesome point! [/sarcasm]

How many illegals usually jam into a small, inexpensive home?

As bshole, points out it ain't even close to paying for the school costs.

BTW: As a landlord when my property taxes were raised substantially I was unable to raise the rents at all. The only place where's there a real connection between property taxes and rent is triple net leases, and those don't exist for residential rentals.

Of course I know it.

Dammit, I've paying about $20k a yr in property taxes since before my kid even started school. You damn well better I understand I'll be paying it long after he graduates and I've got to come up with college tuition.

No, I have a problem with CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS receiving freebies BITCHING about the quality of their freebies. I thought I was pretty clear and consistent about that. Its called reading for comprehension.... When I say something in plain English thats EXACTLY what I mean, I don't mean some fantasy that you generate in your head.

Jesus, if I say I like the Packers, will you use your handy dandy reality distortion device to interpret that I hate the Packers? LOL.

Hey I like this snarkey version of myself....

You must have an amazing house to be dropping $20k a year in property taxes in North Carolina. As best I can tell most (all?) county property taxes in NC are less than 1% of the assessed value.

No. It's a combination of personal and commercial real estate.

Our rate here is above 1% too.

I overestimated my tax bill(s), it's about $15k.

Slow on the uptake?

I was pointing out that you agree with the arguments of those opposed to illegal immigration, except, well, when discussing illegal immigration.

Also, you would be incorrect in your claim that a person paying $500 a yr in R/E estate taxes with one kid isn't paying for that kid. I.e., they're not a free loader as you claim. Given the average life expectancy of +80 yrs they'll be paying in plenty. You must also take into account that much of the R/E tax money comes from businesses and/or commercial real estate.

Yes, I pay a lot of money for her to go to that school. Private schools are everywhere. If you want an alternative, you'll have to work for it. That's life. Work to get what you want, or accept the entry level default option.

Oh, you're raising her to be an awful person as well?

Ok it was stated in the news article I read that he had been asked to stop, and this one teacher even pushed him away as she was getting aggravated.

Bingo! It was an assault, he should not only be booted from the school, he should be criminally prosecuted.
