High School Reunions

Who else here has gone to their 10 year reunion?

Notes:

Hotties in HS, are no longer hotties, they try, but ain't pulling it off.

Old groups migrate right back to where they were in high school.

Not so hotties, are now hotties, but have kids too.

Plus, everyone looks taller, and gained at least 20 pounds.

TIP: Watch "Grosse Pointe Blank" before going, just makes it that much more fun.

Tip #2: Get drunk!!!

Nope. its been 5 years since i graduated hs. i didnt care to see most of those people then, why would i go out of my way to see them 5 years later.

I'll probably go to my 10-year (in six years). Gratifying to know I'll be an Army Officer and a well-educated, successful financial professional by that point in my life. 😛

Went to mine last year. It pretty much sucked. On chick, who thought she was high class and better than everyone else in high school still thought that despite the fact that she's a cop and is well known for sleeping with the other cops she works with. The rest were fat although many of them lost their attitude it seemed like from high school. I guess popping out kids will do that to people. Funny thing was, many of the football players who used to strut like they were big $hit in high school now were fat and miserable with their lives. Meanwhile, I ended up marrying the hot cheerleader (who is still hot, no pics for you though). I wasn't a nerd by any means (I wrestled through high school and was quite good at it), but I never was popular and didn't care to "fit in" with a clique either.

I just attended my 25th this summer, and let me tell you a truth of the universe......25 years is the great equalizer. The guys who were the biggest studs, with the best hair & coolest attitudes, turn into the balding guys with the pot bellies!!

Seriously, you do see some cliq-ish attitudes, but that was mostly from the people that never left the home town, and hang out now with the same people (who also never left) they hung out with in HS. It's basically their way of dealing with their insecurity.

For the most part, 25 was pretty fun. Guys that were so cool in HS are now just as fat as I am, and have less hair, so I felt pretty good!! LOL Like I said, 25 years is a great equalizer, and after that long, all the old feeling of how you didn't like someone pretty much disappear, and you drink some beers, laugh about each other's senior portraits, and enjoy seeing each other again. Unfortunately, I also discovered that we had lost a handful of people from the class, but that's to be expected (I left my home town 25 years ago, and have never been back there to live, just to occasionally visit family, so didn't really know what to expect).

The amazing part was that an old girlfriend looked just about the same as she did back then, and probably gained no more than 5 pounds in that time. She's married now, with a couple kids in their teens, but it was fun seeing her again (after the initial discomfort, we were talking and laughing like we used to back in HS). 🙂

So if 10 years doesn't thrill you, go back for 20 or 25. Unfortunately, due to some bad last minute planning, we didn't have nearly as many people show up as we had hoped for, so decided to do "25, part 2" next year, with much better planning. I'm looking forward to it already! 😀

I went to my ten a couple years ago. Almost everything you said is true, except for the average chicks being hot now. They're still average, but the overall average has gone down so you don't have anything hot to compare them to.

I will never go to another reunion.

Don't get too content with your station in life. It has a way of changing quickly, without warning.

At my five year reunion, I was married, making a buttload of money, had a brand new home, a couple of new cars, thought everything was great. By my ten year reunion, I was divorced, penniless, and jobless. Now I'm married again to the woman of my dreams and working my way back up.

Just don't be surprised if things aren't exactly as you planned at that reunion. 😉

i got something in the mail about my 5 year reunion from HS however just to prove how stupid they are they didnt included the date that it was being held on, just the RSVP date

needless to say i didnt respond and threw all the stuff away

ill prob go to the 10 year in 2010

1995 Grad, too...

Was living in Utah when my 10th reunion was on (in Hawaii)...was moving to Hawaii about 2 months after the reunion. Couldn't really afford a trip there for it, or to move early...

Mine isn't until 2008 but I am not going. There were only a handful of people that I gave half a sh1t about in high school and they probably won't be there.

my 10 year is gonna rock i can feel it. BHHS Class of 2000. I have a feeling they will all be successful or lawyers and rolling in Mercedeseses.

95" here as well, mine is the 15th of October and I'm making a special 3000 mile trip to rub my success in their faces.

PUMP MY GAS BITCHES!!!!

We were supposed to have a 5 year reunion like... 2 years ago. Didn't happen. The person who would have planned it moved to North Carolina, and nobody else wanted to take responsibility for it.
